Easyflow
Extremely compact and lightweight, EasyFlow is the ideal instrument for flow measurement in torrents and wild streams. It is designed for professionals who occasionally carry out gauging and who do not need to register several sites. In just a few minutes, you can measure a flow using the tracer dilution method.
EasyFlow is ergonomically designed and perfectly waterproof, with a conductivity probe and 10m cable. It comes in a nylon shoulder bag with 3 calibration doses, EasyViewer software, a checklist and a USB communication cable. This makes it very easy to transport.
The EasyViewer software enables data transfer to a PC, visualization of the gauging curve and, if necessary, correction of the flow calculation. It is very useful, if not necessary, to check the quality of the gauging by viewing the curve.

The principle of the tracer dilution (or integration) method involves injecting a certain volume of tracer into the flow. Downstream, at a sufficient distance to ensure good mixing, we measure the concentration of this tracer in the watercourse. The flow rate is then obtained by integrating the concentration over time.
Thanks to this method, a single person can measure the flow of a river in less than an hour, whereas an identical measurement using a reel would be much more tedious and would easily take 2-3 hours.
Our EasyFlow device uses this method by diluting it with cooking salt as a tracer. They are equipped with a probe that measures water conductivity, which is linearly proportional to the concentration of dissolved salt in the water.
Cooking salt has the advantage of being highly dilutable in water, non-polluting and absorbed very little by vegetation and riverbed materials. What’s more, its low cost and ease of supply make it an ideal tracer.
