MK2+

The MK1 porosimeter, developed in 1988 for the paragliding industry, quickly became a world reference in porosity measurement, with several thousand units sold. Reliable and fast, it is now used in many sectors to assess the permeability of fabrics - an essential factor in guaranteeing safety and performance.

Since 2017, the MK2 model, with a remote probe and an accessory designed for high-porosity fabrics, has further extended the measurement possibilities of this porosimeter.

Principle

Pass a defined volume of air through a fabric to measure its porosity. The porosimeter measures the time taken for 0.25 litres of air to pass through 38.5 cm of fabric.2 of tissue under a pressure of 10 mbar. The result in seconds can be converted into litres per m2 per minute (l/m2/min).

The measurement pressure is 100 mm of water, i.e. 10 mbar or 10 hPa. The result is given in seconds (time taken for 0.25 litres of air to pass through 38.5 cm2 of fabric at 10 mbar pressure).
